Before you start
Use Google Chrome on Windows. The installer runs as the current Windows user and places Provoke Deck under %LOCALAPPDATA%\ProvokeAI\ProvokeDeck. It does not require an administrator password or UAC elevation.
Install in Chrome
Run Provoke Deck Setup
Open the installer you received after purchase. Choose the Chrome profile where you want Provoke Deck installed.
Click Install Provoke Deck
The setup app installs the extension files to your user profile, copies the extension folder path, and opens that folder for you.
Open Chrome Extensions
Setup opens the selected Chrome profile and attempts to navigate through Chrome's address bar to chrome://extensions. The URL is also copied to your clipboard as a fallback.
In Chrome: enable Developer mode
In the Chrome browser, on chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode in the upper-right corner. Any switch shown inside the installer is a visual reference only.
In Chrome: click Load unpacked
Still in the Chrome browser, click the real Load unpacked button and select the Extension folder opened by Setup.
Confirm and finish
Confirm Chrome shows Provoke Deck - by ProvokeAI BETA. Then return to Setup to test the installation or finish.
Verify installation
Use Test Provoke Deck at the end of Setup. The test checks the installed files, extension version, selected Chrome profile, whether Chrome appears to have loaded the extension folder, and connectivity to the ProvokeAI licensing service.
If Chrome reports an extension error, return to chrome://extensions, open Provoke Deck's details, and send the exact error to support@provokeai.com.
Multiple Chrome profiles
Provoke Deck is loaded separately in each Chrome profile. The setup application detects local Chrome profiles and targets the profile you select. Loading Provoke Deck in one Chrome profile does not automatically load it into your other profiles.
Diagnostics for support
Select Collect Diagnostics in Setup to create a local troubleshooting report. The report includes setup/version information, Chrome path and version, the selected profile directory, local extension-file checks, whether the extension path is detected in that profile's Chrome settings, and licensing-service health.
The diagnostic report intentionally excludes activation keys, entitlement tokens, cookies, browsing history, page contents, and downloaded-file contents.
Updates
The installer is being extended with authenticated update checking. Until that updater is enabled, a new Provoke Deck build can replace the files in the same local installation folder; Chrome may then require you to click Reload on the Provoke Deck card in chrome://extensions.
Uninstall
To remove the current build, first open chrome://extensions in each Chrome profile where Provoke Deck was loaded and click Remove on Provoke Deck. Then remove the local Provoke Deck installation folder at %LOCALAPPDATA%\ProvokeAI\ProvokeDeck.
A later installer build will add a guided uninstall button and Windows per-user uninstall entry; Chrome will still control removal of the browser extension from each profile.
